On Monday, May 16th at 18:15 at the CETT school in Barcelona, enologist Blanca Ozcariz is organizing a benefit tasting with all funds destined to the World Central Kitchen to continue their work, feeding people in the Ukraine war.

While I realize that the tasting being conducted in Catalan will probably limit its appeal to readers of this site, I just wanted to make sure that if anyone was around in the area and wanted to attend, they’d be aware of it. Blanca is a great enologist and donated a magnum from her Els Jardí dels Sentits project to the Wines for Ukraine auction I pulled together so I’d love to see this be a super huge success.

The tasting will be led by Ton Colet, Best Sommelier in Catalunya for 2022. All the wines from the seven wineries being tasted are either from producers that are certified organic or in the case of Terra de Marca work in organic manners.

The cost is 30€ and you can contact Blanca at blancaozcariz@gmail.com for more details (I believe she does speak English.)

I hope it’s packed as Ukraine still needs funds to fight back against the horrors of the Russian invasion and if they can be raised through wine initiatives, all the better!
