Tast del Decenni of 2007 DOQ Priorat

Following are the tastings notes for the 2007 DOQ Priorat wines. Please read my reflections on this tasting and the vintage as a whole first. Not that while I’m quite happy normally using my three star scoring system, I’ve opted for the 100 point scale as a more finite system is needed for tasting such as these. Mas d’en Compte – Blanc Leesy with strident lemon pith notes, light almond nuttiness, pleasing oxidative notes with a pinch of dried flowers. Rather flat on the mouth and lacking any and all intensity with just minor tertiary notes trailing in to the finish. 60% White Grenache 20% Xarel·lo 20% Picapoll 84 Gran Clos – Blanc Tart green pear, dried green apple, bit of tar and rubber notes along with young hazelnut.
