Taking a look at Douro 2017 reds and 2018 whites

At the beginning of June I headed due west until there was no more west which is of course a fancy way to say I hopped across Iberia to Porto, Portugal. I took one of the most gorgeous train rides there is and made my way up the Douro Valley to Peso de Régua. There, “The New Douro” group were holding their annual Primeira Prova tasting which comprised 26 “leading cellars” in the region showing off their lasting reds, whites, rosés, and Vintage Ports.
