Much like politics these days, the concept of “unicorn wine” drives me a bit bonkers. For those who’ve not found their Instagram awash in its eleven-lettered presence, essentially they’re wines that are so rare and mythic as to be like a unicorn and thus immediately shared upon one’s social media with great abundance which… I guess is what you would do these days if coming across an actual unicorn. But for me, the concept of scarce, unfindable wines is beyond tired at this point which is why I like to talk about oddball wines, like the Viña Tondonia – Rosado Gran Reserva.
