Today and tomorrow are big days for the wines from Croatia. It all starts off with the Croatian Grand Portfolio Tasting which is endeavoring to introduce those in the New York food and beverage scene to every imaginable Croatian wine that’s imported in to the US from 25 producers such as: Zlatan Plenković, Bibich, Tomić, Grgić, Saints Hills, Matošević, Dingač, and many, many others. It’s happening from 1 to 5PM at Hudson Terrace and is being put on by the importers, the Croatian Chamber of Economy, and the Consulate General of New York.
While that event is by invitation only, there is also the Winemakers of Croatia tasting tomorrow at Veslo. This event has all the wines, plus the winemakers, plus tasty foods by Velso in Astoria. The cost is $35 for those wishing to attend and honestly, if you were ever curious about these wines, then this is your best opportunity, short of actually going to Croatia, to try them!
