An overview tasting of Bordeaux 2017

Living in Spain is great, especially if you love Spanish wines as much I do. The issue is that the wine world most doesn’t revolve around Spain. This means that you need to stay abreast of what else is happening and especially when that what else is a defining region of wine such as, Bordeaux. So last fall, I found myself in London at the Union des Grands Crus tasting to see how the 2017 vintage stacked up. As you can see in the photo above, I was not alone and this massive space got much more crowded during the day as critics, buyers, and the general wine trade came in to get a taste of what everyone knew to be a “variable” year in terms of quality.
