Jack Winery - Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Ripe red cherry, red plum, and a bursting raspberry undertone, minor blueberry and fig notes underneath, gobs of pencil lead, currant leaf, cracked black pepper, light waft of bell pepper, spicy molasses note at the base. Surprisingly soft on the palate with very powdery tannins and a juicy acidity profile, alcohol comes through a bit much showing that, along with very high viscosity (legs like Port), it holds a much higher than stated ABV. Gets a bit watery in the mid palate however and falls off in the finish as the barrels only do so much. There’s definitely an opulence to it despite the fact it’s starting to fall off.
