Normally I post stuff like this to the dogs gallery, but when it comes to my in-laws’ family dog, ‘black’ (they got him with the name), he usually deserves his own articles. This shot I took of him the other day is no exception as it illustrates all the neurosis that this small dachshund has in that he is never quite warm enough. Well, that’s not true. When it’s 35-40C in the middle of summer in Spain and he can lie down on the tiles of the terrace in direct sunlight, heating up to the point where you can cook on him, then yes, he is warm enough. Through winter, it’s a different story. He needs to be constantly wrapped in his little blanket and usually parked directly next to the heater. That heater is probably about 32C. With the blanket on, he is approaching a temperature that will be okay until summer, although he’ll still start shivering if the blanket falls off, which is due to his getting up and walking around the house with it on like a cloak.
Tie in to this the fact it looks like he shipwrecked his little doggy bed and you get the photo you see below. Yeah, I know I’m a complete moron for dogs, but hey, you have to agree that this picture was worth pointing out.
