Feed…

A bit curious about what it would take to get an RSS feed going on this site, I sat down, spent about two hours reading up on things and got it working. That’s what that little orange icon on the left is now if you’re unfamiliar with the iconography of it all. I even did what’s called a cronjob (not as sexual as it sounds) to make the thing update each hour in case inspiration strikes.
So, how do you get at this? If you’re new to Feeds in general and use Internet Explorer, you’ll need to get an RSS Reader or a plugin for Explorer. Kinda lame and really what you should do is get Firefox which has everything you need built in already and is a far superior browser in general. All you do with Firefox is visit my site and click on the icon when it appears in the location bar to the far right of the site name. It should be pretty easy from there. Once you do that, you get a ‘Live Bookmark’ which will show you what’s going down on my site without even having to visit. Quite useful for mobile devices as it uses very little bandwidth to download this.
If you do get in to it, the main update on the site happens at midnight Pacific Time. You really only need to check once a day or get your little feed working and you can let it tell you when to look. Of course, you’ll miss out on my charming design, which I might add is going to change a little sometime soon…
