Himalayan Peak Darjeeling Organic

Company: Mighty Leaf

Review: This tea comes to me as it's been awhile since I've reviewed anything new from Mighty Leaf. I still drink a lot of their old blends, but I find that they've gotten a tad expensive for everyday drinking, which is unfortunate, seeing as how they're really good teas that can be had everyday.
This Darjeeling is a new item to be bagged and it's stupendous. It's everything that a Darjeeling could ever hope to be. For those who don't like this particular tea because it always seems washed out, fear not! There is a lot of body to it that gives it meat and taste beyond that of your standard Darjeeling.
It has the family, like woodsy aromas that I love in a good Darjeeling, but there is some earthiness to it. There are touches of oak and herbs even, albeit the herbs are a minor, minor flavor. The body is great. It is robust and full of flavor. It doesn't wash away and it's lacking in that astringency that I really dislike in cheaper versions of this tea.
The only thing that would hold is back from being a ten would be the finish. It doesn't finish perfectly clean. While this is a common issue for me with this type of tea, it's something that isn't as strong with this one, but makes it oh so close to hitting that ten mark.

Pairings: Creme Bruleé. Whipped cream on fruit. Hell, even a single-flavored ice cream or ice cream would go great with this. It loves to be paired with creaminess and nice, light sweet flavors.
