TEA REVIEWS

Choice Organic Tea's

Irish Breakfast

Review: Upon first sniff, there isn't too much happening in the nose. But, with a sip, you're led in to a frothy, churning blend of tea. It's much different from say, a Twinings or Peet's Variant. It doesn't have that buttery quality that I really like in an Irish Breakfast, but at the same time, it is very honest to the leaves that went in to it.
You can really taste all the elements of the teas that it is blended from. There hasn't been any homogenization to the blend and each cup seems to have a slightly unique flavor from the one before it.
The description by the company pretty much goes hand in hand with what I've just said in that it's a nice, strong up of tea. Unfortunately, a tad bit of over-steeping results in a bit of stringency to the texture of the tea that I don't care for, so watch out for that.

Pairings: I could imagine it with pancakes or a nice wheat toast. Something that has roughage to it, but a glaze of light sweetness on top of it. It would also work well as a coffee substitute. For instance, a cup of this tea and a bag of really good donuts would be great.
