I’m willing to say that it’s something of a Golden Age for the wine producers of Baja California in Mexico. They produce the vast majority of Mexican wine (the subzone of Valle de Guadalupe alone has 85% of the total production), they’re right across the border from Alta California (aka, “California”) thus meaning plenty of enotourism visits, and they hold this exoticness of being an exciting “new” region (although wine has been produced there for centuries) while still producing wines from varieties people already know and love.
