As noted a couple of weeks ago, the Transamerica Building was not blinking. But now, when I walked to the gym last night, there was the little bugger doing its thing. Why now? All the holidays have passed. Maybe it's for Ford's memorial? That wouldn't make since, seeing as how they didn't have it blinking for a long time previous. I'm sorta at a loss. Minor thing, I know, but these kind of things eat at you in a stupid way and since I can't find out anyting about it on The Chron, it's really annoying. Oh well, we'll see how long it does its thing for.

Don't get me wrong, I loooove Netflix and the ability to not have to interact with my fellow man even more by having my movies sent to my cave. But, I just have to say that the "give a subscription" function sucks. I had to help my mom give one to my aunt for Christmas because she couldn't figure it out. I got in there and I had trouble figuring it out... and I build websites for a living!!!       It's this most convoluted thing where it really seems like you're giving a gift subscription to yourself the whole time. Then when you get to the end, there's no way to delay the email delivery to the person you want to give the gift to, so you just have to wait to send it. Beyond just the general ineptitude with how this was built, I think the marketing folks got way too involved and were trying to make it a system wherein you might not end up giving it, but yet still get charged, sorta how giftcards work because people never get around to spending the. In this instance, it's failed. I almost didn't even want to bother, but it was a last minute thing, so there you have it.              In other news, it's Christmas Day! If you're not Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, or one of the other billions of people who aren't Christian, what the hell are you doing here reading this?!! Get out there and have a good day with friends and family. Or just go get drunk or somethin'. I'm not gonna tell you what to do. Just have fun doing it.

I was just looking out my window last night and noticed that the blinking Christmas light on top of the Transamerica Building (aka the pointy one) isn't there! It's been there ever since I can remember, which is admittedly not that long, but still, what gives?       It was there last year. There isn't any kind of power crunch right now. Looks like our color level is yellow right now, which in reality is the new blue, so the terrorist threat is minimal. Thanks for that that one, DHS! The FBI couldn't give us colors! No sir. About time to elevate it don't you think? Oh wait, people don't pay attention anymore and the Pubs lost out on Congress, so there's little point. But still...       Anyways, where the hell is Christmas light on the pyramid?!! Without that I don't know when it's Christmastime. It could be Hammertime now for all I know and what the hell do you give for that? Balloon pants and bankruptcy notifications? That's no fun at all.
