On The Tender, I’m using a very lightly tweaked version of the jQuery JSON snippet that they provide to pull in a live stream of photos via the flickr API. It’s been working exceedingly well. So well in fact that when it stopped working, I was flat-out mystified as to why.
It turns out that it coincided with the upgrade to WordPress 3.1 because in doing that, I copied over all my non-static directories which in turn wiped out my jQuery library, replacing it with jQuery 1.4.4. In theory, this should have been fine as I thought that I had already force-upgraded to 1.4.4, but it wasn’t. The flickr JSON feed died. Solution? Grab the latest jQuery library (1.5.1 at the time of this writing) and paste it over your /wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery.js file. Upload it and you should be set. Again, I’ve no idea where the issue is, but I like the new features in jQuery 1.5, so I figured that I might as well go with it.
